c) Physician-Managed (Team-Based) Procedures

In this scenario, the doctor oversees the operation but does not perform the surgery itself. Their role is to lead the team, conduct the initial consultation, and perhaps administer the local anesthesia. While the doctor remains legally responsible for the patient, the clinical work is handled by the staff.

Clinics using this model can perform 3 to 5 operations per day. Pricing is usually a flat fee rather than per graft, with average costs ranging between €2,500 and €4,000.

d) Non-Physician Clinics (“Underground” Operations)

These facilities are often referred to as “black market” or “under-the-table” clinics. There is no doctor present, or a medical diploma is simply “rented” to bypass Ministry of Health inspections.

These centers focus on high volume, often performing 15 to 20 (and sometimes up to 60) procedures a day. Their business model relies on low costs and high turnover, with prices usually hovering between €1,000 and €1,500. They rarely follow a strict graft-count policy, often using slogans like “unlimited grafts” to attract patients.

3. Number of Grafts to be Implanted

While some centers determine their pricing based on the specific graft count, others use a classification system such as small, medium, or large sessions.

You may also encounter centers promoting “unlimited grafts” for a fixed price. We advise approaching such “unlimited” claims with caution. As a clinic, we do not find it medically appropriate to transplant more than 2,000–2,500 grafts in a single day. An operation session should not exceed 5–6 hours per day; this is critical for the survival rate of the grafts. Naturally, if the procedure is spread over multiple days, the operational costs will increase.
